The ReeVue is an Indirect Calorimeter tailored for nutritional assessment and
medical nutrition therapy. It measures oxygen consumption via a simple
breath test to determine REE (resting energy expenditure). Those results
are used to determine a patient's caloric requirements to lose, maintain, or
gain weight. The patient's REE is compared to predicted normals,
addressing the concerns that a person's metabolism is to blame for weight
problems. It provides a printout that is ideal for maintaining records, as
well as helping the clinician and patient to understand the results.
