Cholesterol Panel:
The BIOSAFE Cholesterol/Lipid Panel blood test is a laboratory procedure that measures the amount
of total cholesterol in your blood, the amount of HDL cholesterol, your
triglyceride level, and then accurately computes your LDL cholesterol value.
This is the most comprehensive form of cholesterol testing available. Comparing
the results of your initial Cholesterol Panel test to the results of subsequent
tests can determine the progress you’ve made in reducing your overall coronary
risk. The specimen collection process is quick, easy and virtually
painless. Using the special lancet (included in the BIOSAFE Blood Collection
Kit), a couple of drops of blood are taken from a nick of a finger and deposited
onto a special collection card. The card is then sent to BIOSAFE Laboratories
for analysis. BIOSAFE tests your blood sample to see how much total cholesterol,
HDL, LDL, and triglycerides are present and then mails the results back to you
in an easy-to-read report.
PSA: The
BIOSAFE Prostate Screen is a laboratory blood test that measures a chemical
substance produced by the prostate gland called Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA).
Small amounts of this substance can be measured in the bloodstream by the
Prostate Screen. Certain conditions of the prostate may raise the level of PSA
in the blood and, while elevated levels of PSA are not harmful, they are an
important signal of possible prostate disease. The BIOSAFE Prostate Screen
provides you with an accurate, convenient, and inexpensive way to discover your
own PSA level. The specimen collection process is quick, easy and
virtually painless. Using the special lancet (included in the BIOSAFE Blood
Collection Kit), a couple of drops of blood are taken from a nick of a finger
and deposited onto a special collection card. The card is then sent to BIOSAFE

TSH: Thyroid
disease is being identified more frequently as the primary cause of many
chronic disease states, such as obesity, depression, fatigue, and numerous
other hard to identify disorders. If the patient's problem is thyroid
disease, it's usually easy and inexpensive to treat, eliminating the need
for more invasive and costly testing. BIOSAFE's TSH Test is the only
product of its kind on the market, producing a quantitative analysis of
blood TSH. Although the collection process still requires just a
finger stick, the sample is collected using BIOSAFE's new Blood
Transportation System (BTS). Instead of putting the drops of blood on
a standard specimen card, they are placed in the patent pending BTS for
shipment to the lab. This technology will allow BIOSAFE to bring new
cost-saving tests more quickly to the marketplace.
Hemoglobin A1c:
The
BIOSAFE Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) blood test is a laboratory procedure that
measures the total amount of hemoglobin A1c in your blood. Comparing the results
of your initial HbA1c test to the results of subsequent tests can determine the
progress you’ve made in properly managing your diabetes. The specimen
collection process is quick, easy and virtually painless. Using the special
lancet (included in the BIOSAFE Blood Collection Kit), a couple of drops of
blood are taken from a nick of a finger and deposited onto a special collection
card. The card is then sent to BIOSAFE Laboratories for analysis. BIOSAFE tests
your blood sample to see how much HbA1c is present and then mails the results
back to you in an easy-to-read report.
Anemia Meter:The
BIOSAFE Anemia Meter is a hand-held, rapid response blood testing device
that accurately checks for blood hemoglobin levels. The test provides you
with an accurate, convenient, and inexpensive way to test for possible
anemia in the comfort and safety of your home or office. Low
hemoglobin levels are associated with extreme weakness, fatigue, shortness
of breath, dizziness, depression, rapid heart beat, and/or pale skin. People
over 65, those who have had recent surgery, and HIV/AIDS patients are at
increased risk. Additionally, people who have kidney disease, diabetes,
rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, or heart disease should check their hemoglobin
level regularly. The specimen
collection process is quick, easy and virtually painless. Using the special
lancet (included with the BIOSAFE Anemia Meter), one or more drops of blood
are taken from a nick of a finger and deposited into the Anemia Meter. A
view window indicates when the right amount of blood has been deposited, and
a plunger is then pushed to start the testing process. The unit is then set
aside. At the end of twenty minutes the window on the meter will give you
your result. That's all there is to it! Quick - Convenient - Accurate.
Your result will be numerical - not just a
simple “YES” or “NO”. If your result shows that you may be anemic,
you can place the Anemia Meter in the provided plastic envelope and show it
to your health care provider.
